I hear what you’re saying AP, but is my swing good enough?
To answer this question let’s refer to celebrated economist, Vilfredo Pareto. Perhaps you haven’t heard of Pareto, but I’m guessing you’re familiar with ‘Pareto’s Law’ AKA ‘The 80-20 Rule’.
- 20% of the input will result in 80% of the output
- 20% of the causes are creating 80% of the problems
- 20% of the time and effort will give you 80% of the results
The swing is a work of art and also a work in progress, do you ever stop refining it – probably not. But the truth is; you’re probably 80% as good as you’ll ever be, and you may end up spending the rest of your days searching for the other 20% of possible progress, and never quite get there. Or worse still you become all technical and ruin your natural swing.
But with the mental game and mind it’s the other way round…
The mind provides the greatest opportunities for growth and development, and when you do switch focus to the mind you’ll have a whole new world of progress to discover, and you may be shocked by how quickly and dramatically you improve.
If you’re progress is flat-lining, feels like you’re going backwards or round in circles, that’s a clear indication that you’re ready to make the switch.
